GATE 2017 – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering -It is a national level examination which gets conducted each year. The main reason of conducting this examination is to test the aptitude and subject knowledge of the applicant and on the basis of that; they get admission in Engineering PG programmes. Each year GATE gets conducted successfully at various examination centers and as like every year, this year also the examination will be conducted soon. As per year, the notification of GATE 2017 will be released in August 2016. So all the interested candidates can check out the eligibility criteria in order to apply for it. The GATE is conducted by IIT’s and IISc. Generally examination held conducted from last week of January- February . Numbers of candidates appear for this examination every year. The candidates who are satisfying the eligibility conditions mentioned below are eligible to appear for GATE 2017. The aspirants are advised to match their eligibility with the conditions given below:

NOTE: Those who have already completed their qualifying examination in 2016 or before have to submit the degree certificate/provisional certificate. The appearing candidates are required to submit a certificate from Principal.
In all GATE papers, there are total 65 questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of GATE exam is 3 hours. The question paper consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type questions.
In the papers with the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics section carries around 15% of the total marks, the General Aptitude section carries 15% of the total marks and the remaining 70% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
In the papers with the codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section carries 15% of the total marks and the remaining 85% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
The GATE examination for all the papers is conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT), where questions are displayed in a random sequence on a computer screen. You are required to either select the answer (for MCQ type) or enter the answer for numerical answer type question using a mouse on a virtual keyboard. You will be provided with blank paper sheets for rough work.
1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each; Each of the multiple choice objective questions in all papers and sections contain four answer choices, out of which you have to select correct answer or answers.
2. Numerical Answer Questions, carrying 1 or 2 marks each; The answer is a real number, which you have to enter using the mouse and a virtual on-screen keypad. No choices are shown for this type of questions.
